Scientist, entrepreneur, coach and speaker

Jean-Philippe is a social scientist, entrepreneur, coach and speaker with experience in EU policy-making, leadership development and personal development

Grown up in a French-German-Romanian family, diversity and multilingualism have always been something natural for me. In my early years, I started questioning the world around me, driven by a strong sense of justice and a dream of a better world. These values have brought me to engage in multiple NGOs and political organisations. To understand how society works, I later decided studying political sciences and sociology in Bordeaux and Stuttgart.

With my double master diploma in EU public affairs and empirical social sciences, I started my professional career in the European capital Brussels where I could gain first-hand experiences in advocacy and European decision-making processes. The first years in Brussels also allowed me to dive deeper into the areas of sustainability in NGOs and think tanks. Even though I learned a lot during this period, I felt that many professionals, including me, lacked a sense of true and deep impact. After all, the EU was quite far away from the reality on the ground.

My wish to discover new perspectives brought me to work for a European confederation of managers in the areas of policy and communications. There, I could follow my multiple interests in research, communications and policy. During these fruitful years, I could moderate and speak at EU-level events, edit multiple policy papers and research reports, as well as engage stakeholders in the areas of digitalisation, employment policy and management development.

In 2018, I started working specifically on the topic of sustainable leadership in European management. This way, I could bring together my wish for impact and the new teachings I learned from the previously unknown world of management. As the project manager of the Sustainable Leadership EU Project, I have been able to advance the topic through policy recommendations, training design for managers as well as strategic partnerships.

While this project is of high relevance, I was curious to learn myself how to drive change in organisations and asked myself how I could have a greater personal impact on people, their organisations and ultimately at systemic level. It seemed quite clear to me that I would have to start something profoundly new – which brought me to found Perspectivist in 2020 and to learn how to become a coach.

Today, I am developing coaching, consulting and design services under the roof of Perspectivist, together with other motivated and inspiring changemakers across Europe and beyond.
